ClickUp’s Latest Gimmick
Say what you will about ClickUp, they know how to have fun with their marketing. While it’s not my cup of tea, they’ve certainly disrupted the space. In their latest adventure, they showed up at Dreamforce (Salesforce 🤝 Slack) promoting their “Cut The Slack” campaign.
Measurable pipeline is always difficult to discern with campaigns like these, but their Instagram is full of similar gimmicky videos so clearly it’s working for them. Love the intent – not so much a fan of the execution. They take the in-your-face guerrilla approach while we prefer stealth guerrilla mode. To each their own!
Although my eyes are burning and my ears are ringing after watching that Reel, they’ve once again managed to create something memorable – for better or worse.
Nobody’s falling for these, right?

Listen, we’re not knocking sales teams. We know it’s a grind out there. On the one hand, the undertone of these messages is that we should connect because LinkedIn “sees” we have a lot in common. Unfortunately for these sales teams, we marketers can see these messages for what they are: cold sales outreach.
Obviously one-to-one messages aren’t scalable, but surely we can come up with a bit more creative outreach?
Some things are best left unsaid
Hubspot VP Kieran Flanagan just posted a “leaked” memo from MrBeast which he writes has “some of the best leadership/career advice you can get.”
If we’re not all up to speed on who MrBeast is, here’s the TL;DR (or a full rundown):
YouTube’s biggest influencer
Embroiled in a lawsuit over his upcoming Prime Video gameshow where he’s accused of causing contestants collective “suffering” and fostering a “culture of misogyny and sexism.”
His former YouTube co-host also "allegedly” groomed a teenager

I think we can all agree that “4. Push Through “No”” feels like a problematic piece of advice coming from this guy.
So we ask: why is it okay to put people like this on a pedestal and isn’t it Kieran’s responsibility to research before publishing?
Let’s stop pretending clout equates to expertise.
Voice AI that actually works? 🤯
We have tried a LOT of AI video and voiceover tools in the last year, and most of them really suck. It either takes 15 iterations to get something that’s 75% acceptable or you have to go through 35 different accents and “agents” to find something passable.
UserEvidence VP Mark Huber recently shared a demo of Goldcast and color us impressed. They not only seem to have nailed the brand voice and tone, but they somehow paired that with really, really amazing AI video.
For small marketing teams like ours at UserEvidence, this is how you punch above your weight class to repurpose content effectively (without losing your brand voice and sounding robotic).
That’s a ringing endorsement if we’ve ever heard one. Sign us up 🫡
